While most music in Pikmin 2 is sequenced in .bms format, there are particular cases that use streamed music instead (e.g, main menu, end of day, cut-scene music, etc). These are known as .ast files. To convert .mp3 or .wav to .ast and vice versa, you can use Anthe's ast converter to create custom music in such instances. Here's a list of them:
