pyblo2-gui is a GUI editor for the BLO2 format, used for in-house developed Nintendo GameCube games such as Pikmin 2 and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!.

Basic Tool Information[edit]

Textures[edit]

A list of BTis (textures) that the BLO file uses.

Extra textures can also be added by right clicking the "textures" section, select "Add Texture Entry", and import the PNG version of the BTI you want to use. The name, alpha setting, and image format have to match the actual BTI information, it's recommended you open the BTI file in GCFT to see its alpha setting and format.

Materials[edit]

A list of materials the BLO file uses, the texture is usually determined by the "Tex 1" section.

Anchor[edit]

X/Y Offset: Offset of an object to the parent

X/Y Size: Width/Height of an of an object

X/Y Scale: Scale of an Object

Rotation: 360° rotation of an object

Top/Bottom Settings[edit]

Color Left/Right: The RGB color/alpha by each corner.

Other Information/Tips[edit]

  • The BLO Editor has no undo button, so be careful about any edits you make.
  • You cannot select multiple objects despite the fact you can drag to create a select box
  • Some objects such as the "life" part of the captain health meter cannot be scaled with X/Y Height, but X/Y Scale"
